Applying for visa via Consular Office of the Embassy



☐ Eligibility criteria for application


1) You are eligible to apply for Bachelor’s(D-2-2)/Master’s(D-2-3)/Doctoral Degree(D-2-4)

if you are a person who plans to enroll for education of bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral

degree program at an academic research institute, or a community college or above established in accordance with the Higher Education Act or Special Act.

2) You are eligible to apply for Exchange Student visa (D2-6)

if you are an exchange student who plans to study for a degree through exchange program between universities.


3) You are eligible to apply for Visiting Students (D-2-8) visa

if you are a person who plans to enroll in a master’s degree course of study at college or above, or academic institution established in accordance with the Higher Education Act or regulation of special laws.


4) You are eligible to apply for Korean Language Trainee (D-4-1) visa

if you are a person with at least high school diploma or the equivalent, who plans to study Korean language at a language institution affiliated with a foreign education institution in the ROK or at a higher education institution established in accordance with the Higher Education Act.



☐ Requirements and Documents for application


➀ visa application form (form no. 17)

     the application should have bar-code at the top right corner of the first page and signed on the last page

➁ one passport photo (photo size 3.5cm x 4.5cm color photograph of face, front view on  white background, taken

     within the past six months)

➂ physical passport (6 months valid)

➃ a copy of passport

➄ certificate of Admission issued by the dean/president of the university and it must be include student’s signature 

    (표준입학허가서)

➅ a copy of Certificate of Business Registration of the hosting university (사업자등록증 사본)

➆ documents proving that you are an exchange student (official documents of the hosting university, exchange student

     agreement between universities) (D-2-6)

➇ original copy of document indicating the final level of education

➈ original copy of bank statement(with bank stamp) proving your financial ability to support yourself

     - When submitting a parent's bank statement, family relation certificate is required

➉ a copy of swish receipt for your visa fee


   ※ Proving ➇ Document of education ➈ your financial ability is not required, if the host university of Korea is an IEQAS

       (Excellent Accredited/Accredited) University.

       Please click here to check if your host school is an IEQAS University.


     

※ The head of the Korean Embassy can request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.



☐ Visa Type

Single-entry visa.

Periods of stay for this visa will be granted initially for up to 2 years (D2-2/3/4), 1 year (D-2-6/8), 6 months (D-4-1).


※ You should enter Korea in 3 months from the visa issuance date.


☐ Visa fee

600SEK


☐ NOTE

o Visa process will take 2~3 weeks to be completed.

o Applicants are strongly advised not to book flight tickets or hotels until you have a visa.

o No Emergency visa issuance or expedited service available.

Step 5 Visit the Embassy with all documents to be submitted on the date and time of your appointed schedule.
